How To Grow a Small Business Into a Large Business?
Almost all businesses start small. Apple, Amazon, Google – all started in garages. Despite what most people think, small businesses don’t grow into large businesses via huge step-changes. Rather, they evolve and iterate – with their founders simply leaving their companies 1% better each week, and deploying a process of constant, never-ending improvement.
My own businesses started REALLY simply – My info-marketing business was a £500 website, purchased on eBay. Over the past 14 years, I’ve simply left that business 1% better each week, and it now employs five full time members of staff, and generates a nice six-figure profit for me each year.
It’s a similar story with my coaching business – that started by inviting six people to sit around my kitchen table, where I would set them homework, answer their questions, and give them a business book to read each month. By leaving that business 1% better each week, I’ve been able to grow another small business into a large business – with more than 100 clients, three bestselling business books, and the #1 business podcast in the UK.
So, how do you grow a small business into a large business? The same way you’d eat an elephant – one bite at a time!
